SQL Server Compression Estimator Tool

On Monday 9th May 2011 the release of the SQL Server Compression Estimator Tool was made available on Codeplex  for download. This tool will allow you once installed to point at your instances of SQL Server 2008 R2 and it will give you estimates for the best compression you can achieve at both the row and page level compression on your objects.

Once you have downloaded this tool from Codeplex  the installation and setup is very simple. Here are the easy step by step process that you can follow –
