Know what you’re actually running
A health check is an independent assessment of your SQL Server environment: what’s configured, what’s missing, and what’s likely to cause a problem.
Organisations use them for three reasons. As the starting point for a managed service, so we both know what we’re taking on. As a regular annual review. Or as the external assessment an auditor requires, which is some regulated industries is a legislative obligation.
You don’t need to commit to anything ongoing to have one done.
Light Weight Health Check
Reviews the Windows and SQL Server settings and configuration on the instance against industry-recommended practice, and collects performance metrics to confirm the server is running as it should.
You receive a detailed report on any configuration issues found. Action it internally, or we can implement the recommendations for you.
Full Stack Health Check
A two-week engagement, covering your full environment – on-premises, virtualised, or in Azure, AWS or GCP. We capture performance across the full two weeks, then review your Windows and SQL Server configurations to identify misconfigurations and performance bottlenecks. For PaaS environments, we review the equivalent configuration settings within Azure or AWS.
You receive a full report on configuration issues and performance bottlenecks, actionable by your team or ours.
What happens next is up to you
Some clients take the report and act on it themselves. Some ask us to implement it. Some use it as a starting point for an ongoing managed service engagement. All three are fine.
