Data Privacy, Security and Ethics for the Data-Driven Professional

Views 1570

In this day and age of data explosion as a Data Professional we need to take this very seriously. When people hear about Data Privacy, they immediately think of GDPR.

Some discussions I have had with people here in Australia specifically around data privacy and the comments i get back are “We do not need to worry about GDPR as this does not apply to us here.”

Unfortunately this is not correct understanding and does actually have to be taken into account. Martin Catherall our Data Platform MVP explains more about Privacy, Security and Ethics in his post for PASS.

I am a Microsoft Data Platform MVP as well as a Microsoft Certified Master working as the Principal Consultant here at SQL Masters Consulting. When I am not working with the SQL Server Stack I like to get away to the Snow and spend time Snowboarding.
