Views 1510

With the launch of SQL Server 2012 getting ever closer excitement is building in the SQL Server community around this release and the new approach to licensing. The official launch of the product is on March 7 2012 and you can register for this launch now. With this launch getting even closer the actual release date of the product is getting closer. Nothing official has been stated on when SQL Server 2012 will be released to the market, but with the changes that are going to take effect when the product is released if you do not have your existing SQL Server 2008 R2 Licenses with Software Assurance you could be in for a bit of a shock when you decide to upgrade to SQL Server 2012.

Based on this it would be recommend to discuss your licensing requirements with your License Reseller now and get things sorted before the actual release of the product.
